Thermoforming heater proportional control

Tandiono, Tan Giovanni - Personal Name; Widjaja, Benny - Personal Name; Suradi - Personal Name;

This study aims to analyze the performance of temperature and the use of electrical energy from on-off and PID control as well as single and double set points. The subject of this research is a company that produces carpets for cars. This research method is data collection, data analysis, control strategy, and data taking. The data of this study are temperature fluctuations and electrical energy consumption in kWh (kilowatt hour) between on-off control, single set point, double set point and PID control. The tools used in the research are data recorders and clamp meters. This study concluded that the control of PID control and double set point worked better than controlling on-off control and single set point. It can be seen from the performance of temperature and use of electrical energy. Temperature performance especially temperature fluctuation with PID control works more optimally than on-off control. The use of electrical energy with PID control is less than the use of electrical energy with on-off control by 3.5 %. In addition, the use of double set point electrical energy is reduced by 11.3 % compared to the use of electrical energy with a single set point.
