Developing machine vision in a conveyor system for paper cup inspection
The purpose of this thesis is to develop a machine vision to detect and measure a paper cup diameter that is integrated with the Festo conveyor station as the transport system for the paper cup. Webcam camera is used to capture the paper cup image which is used as the main input image to be processed using Qt Creator and OpenCV library. The Festo conveyor station is controlled by using microcontroller and the communication between the machine vision and the Festo conveyor station is established using Firmata protocol. A pneumatic system that consist of solenoid valve and relay circuit to control it
