Viscosity effect on pressure loss of the positive displacement pump
The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the fluid characteristic of positive displacement pump on the small pipe. Not many researchers have carried out this kind of experimental work, and the future trend to minimize the size of machines for process purposes led to the investigation of the behavior of fluid in a small diameter pipe.For this experiment, some important devices were installed, which involved the integration of mechanical devices, sensors and electrical parts as well as computerized data acquisition.The results showed that the fluid slip in the system can be reduced by using higher viscosity oil. It was also observed during the experiments that the laminar and turbulent flow in the small diameter pipe was directly in correlation with the flow rate pattern.
