Data acquisition of automatic resistance measurement tool for commutator segment of dc motor
A microcontroller is one of the most powerful controllers which are widely used nowadays because of the ability of microcontroller in a wide range. It is not possible to separate control and mechatronics systems because control is a part of the mechatronics system. The purpose of this thesis was to develop a data acquisition controller and database of Automatic Resistance Measurement Tool for Commutator of DC Motor. A microcontroller AT89S52 is used as a controller. Microcontroller AT89S52 works together with a DC Motor Driver and an Analog to Digital (A/D) Converter to achieve complete control and data collection. A friendly user interface for the monitoring of the controlling process was developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and the database for the measurement result was built by using Microsoft Access 2003. As a result, the data acquisition controller and database of Automatic Resistance Measurement Tool for Commutator of DC Motor ran as we expected even though there was still a need for some improvements.
