Implementation of an automatic storage and retrieval system (asrs) in a flexible manufacturing system (fms)

Storage or warehouse is an important part of manufacturing system. Commonly storage is handling manually. As a result, a number of mistakes which is caused by human error can be appearing. To solve this problem, a system that can handle storage that can work stand-alone and integrated is created. This system we called AS/RS (Automatic Storage / Retrieval System).rnThe purposes of this research are: firstly, to build a model of AS/RS system. Secondly, implement network control system in a cheaper way by using microcontroller. Thirdly, by implementing Flexible Manufacturing System, we can also socialize this new system.rnThis project is divided into two main sub-projects. First is building the mechanism. This subproject including: design mechanism, design parts, manufacture, and assembly. Second is building electrical part and writing software. This project including: make a list of sensors, design I/O board, design power supply, and writing assembly program for microcontroller and writing operation software for computer. By using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) and simulation software, both sub-projects can be finished easier.
