Designing and constructing an electric bicycle based on microcontroller
This thesis is about electric bicycle which is built based on microcontroller. The electric bicycle is made of six primary parts: 1. Bicycle frame, 2. DC motor, 3. Microcontroller module, 4. Motor driver, 5. Batteries, and 6. Real-time monitoring system.rnThe brain of the electric bicycle is the microcontroller chip. Speed control is achieved by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Motor driver consists of power MOSFETs which are connected in parallel. Overcurrent protection circuit is designed to prevent excessive flow of current to the DC motor. User interface screen provides information about battery level and actual speed. The electric bicycle uses hub motor as the main propulsion system and lead-acid batteries as the power supply.
