Icarus technical documentation and user guide development
The purpose of this thesis is to make a documentation and user guide for Integrated Curriculum Information System (ICARUS) at SGU. ICARUS has some modules such as syllabus, lecturers, and materials. The current situation is that ICARUS has no documentation and user guide. As a result, it will create some difficulties for a new user to operate the system. The developer and systems administrator will also find difficulties in operating, developing, and maintaining the system. This thesis uses a reverse engineering method, which is a process of discovering the technology principal through analysis of its structure, function and operation. It involves taking something (part of the system) and analyzes its working in detail. The result of this thesis will provide a documentation and user guide of ICARUS that makes a clear overview of the ICARUS system that runs at SGU. The documentation and user guide will help new user to operate the system, developer to develop the system, and system administrator to maintain and work with the system. The process of documentation will be based on UML (Unified Modeling Language) and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) for database tables.
