Comparative study of the recruitment system for lecturers and staff in Swiss German University and University of Indonesia faculty of economics international undergraduate class
This thesis assesses the effective recruitment process of lecturers and staff in Swiss German University (SGU) and University of Indonesia Faculty of Economy International Undergraduate Class (FEUI Int.). A qualitative method was used for comparing the recruitment process in SGU and FEUI Int. and Interviews were conducted with a representative sample of students and the Human Resource department staffs from SGU and FEUI Int. From the findings, the author concluded the quality of education offered by these two universities is very satisfying. Proper recruitment process implemented by SGU and FEUI Int. is the key factor for success. Although, it was found that SGU and FEUI Int. have different process in recruiting lecturers and staffs, the significant difference is recruitment sources that SGU and FEUI Int. have been using in collecting sources. SGU are in the opinion that external sources can give them better results; on the other hand FEUI Int. concentrates more on the internal sources. The author's recommendation for SGU and FEUI Int.: to give recruitment training for Human Resources team to improve their skill, to balance recruitment from internally and externally, to improve English proficiency for local lecturers and generally to improve quality of lecturers for both international universities.
