Computerizing the characteristics of a pressure relief valve
The project purpose is to study the characteristics of pressure relief valve. The system can be used also to find the range of pressure system in hydraulic system. The characteristic of pressure relief valves is relationship between pressure and flow rate. The pressure relief valves will control the pressure by electrical DC motor and the flow rate using hydraulic positive displacement motor. For each revolution of motor is equivalent with 8 cm3. The shaft of hydraulic motor is attached with optical encoder to find the time for one revolution or one cycle. The pressure signal and encoder signal measured by the microcontroller and the result will be sent to the computer. With simple hyper terminal program that run on the computer, the value will be displayed and after that can be saved to the hard disk.rnrnThe other using this system is to find the pressure drop in the elements or hydraulic parts. The pressure transmitter will be acting as the indicator to show the pressure in hydraulic system. rnThe project, first is mechanical design for Pressure transmitter adapter, and continues with microcontroller programming to control the measuring project, so that the output signal of pressure transmitter can be given and so the encoder output signal.rnrnIn general, this project is good and running well and can be used in hydraulic laboratory to measured their component or hydraulic parts.rnrnThis project done together with Achmad Faisal, even we used the same hydraulics element but the scope is different, my thesis focused in pressure relief valve and the other focused in hydraulics pump elements.
