Goutama, Darmawan Hanjaya - Personal Name; Tanaya, Prianggada Indra - Personal Name;

In this thesis, it is described the Mobile Robot which has ability to move autonomously. The Mobile Robot consists of six parts: 1. Mobile Robot platform, 2. Geared DC motors, 3. Microcontroller system, 4. Ultrasonic Range Finder,5. Incremental Optical Encoder, and 6. Lead-Acid Car Battery.rnrnThe Mobile Robot platform is designed with respect to the Ackerman steering. Ackerman steering, also known as car type steering. It only needs a single motor source to drive the wheels, and a separate motor to control the steering operation. This type of steering has a capacity to be more precise than a differential steering in a specific path.The brain of the mobile robot is ATMEGA 8.There is communication between the supervisory ATMEGA 8 and actuators. The Mobile Robot uses Geared DC motors as the main motion system and Lead-Acid Car battery as the main power supply.
