Further development in the design and construction of a device to estimate the internal bore hole well volume (in order to estimate the amount of cement needed to cement around the pipe)

Damin, Zoltan - Personal Name; Arko - Personal Name;

This thesis is intended to develop and modify the model of a bore hole volume estimator. The model of a bore hole volume estimator consist of 4 mechanical finger arms. Each mechanical arm is connected to a potentiometer as a sensor (measurement) and connected to a spring as a prime mover to pull up the mechanical arms (open position). DC motor is used as an actuator to close the mechanical arm. Pulley and timing-belt is used to have a connection between DC motor and the mechanical arm. The pulley which is placed at the shaft of DC motor uses a small pin to get a connection with the DC motor. In the process of measurement, sometimes the pin must be locked and sometimes must be unlocked. The process of locking and unlocking the pin is done manually. Because of that, the author decides to develop and modify the locking mechanism and make it works automatically. The author also decide to make a visualization of the bore hole well which is measured by this device.
