Development of a web-based library information system: a case study at the Swiss German University

As an international university that has good education quality, Swiss German University (SGU) provided with a good library as well. SGU library consists of many collections of book, magazine, journal, audio visual, and thesis that keep increasing in number. Therefore, an information system is needed in order to maintain and manage these collections. rnrnThe purpose of this thesis is to develop a web-based information system for SGU library that can be used to help librarians in order to improve the existing system in SGU Library, as well as to support the librarians' works in easier ways.rnrnThe chosen methodology that will be use in this thesis is waterfall model. Waterfall suggest a systematic, a sequential approach to software development that begins with customer specification. The scripting language used for develop the system is PHP, and MySQL for the database.
