An analysis of electronic document management with a case study in Bank Indonesia
The purposes of this thesis are to analyze the procedure and effectiveness of the current document management in Bank Indonesia which is still done manually and to identify the factors influencing the upcoming electronic document management (EDMS) implementation.rnrnThis thesis draws on unstructured interview, personally administered questionnaire, and secondary data collection such as company data and library research.rnrnThe current document management in Bank Indonesia has been significantly effective in supporting the decision making, enhancing the working performance, retrieving document, and responding to the information inquiries. The upcoming EDMS implementation is driven by better security in accessing information, more easily and faster in document retrieval, ease in sharing information, ease in monitoring the document settlement process, and more effective and efficient in administrative and distribution. Before rolling out to the larger implementation, success of pilot project and several personal aspects such as changes in working culture and skills need to be taken into account.
