Assessment of XYZ supermarket's competitive strategies in surviving in Indonesia against other major competitors
The purpose of this research is to assess the factors that have brought XYZ supermarket into survival throughout the industry. The methodology of this research conducted includes obtaining information through field search in the form of questionnaire and observation, library search, and interview. Later, the data obtained are analyzed, answers are extracted and confirmations with the concerned company are reached. Thus, the findings showed that the customers are actually responding positively to the closeness of their home to XYZ Supermarket to shop but the lack of marketing or advertising does not educate customers enough about the supermarket. XYZ's promotion mainly done by distributing brochures from one house to another which took a lot of time and not so many customers really respond to it. It can be concluded that the main strategy of locating XYZ supermarket that is close to the neighborhood, and maintaining the high standard of services have contributed much to the success of XYZ survival. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that customers are needed to be more educated with the offers XYZ Supermarket has given through advance marketing.
