The Importance of language competencies for career development in the hospitality industry in Jakarta: a survey analysis on future trends in customer relations and human resources development
The purpose of this research is to determine what effect does the proficiency in language contributes to the ability of an hotelier in developing career and establishing better customer relations with the guests.rnrnPrimary data are collected through interviews with relevant sources and also questionnaires distributed to participating hospitality workers.rnrnThe research concluded that the respondents agreed that language knowledge affect positively in the process of developing career and establishing better customer relations. They are also looking forward to learn the languages of prospective customers in order to deliver better service. However, the impact to career development and customer relation is still too weak to be noticed.
