An analysis of intangible heritage experience in supporting sustainable destination development: a case study in Bali

Jessica - Personal Name; Umarjadi, Utami - Personal Name;

Indonesia as a tourism destination benefits from a wide range of attractions, both tangible and intangible. Unfortunately, the role of intangible attractions, unlike the tangible ones, has been taken too lightly to some extent. The intangible heritage in Bali for example, has great prospective to be developed further as an intangible tourist attraction. This specific attraction could offer the tourists an unforgettable 'tourist-host community interaction' experience. The uniqueness of such experience could differentiate Bali from other tourism destinations and this could become a strong pull factor to draw more visitors to this region. And hence support the sustainability of Bali as tourism destination.The intangible heritage in Bali for example, has great prospective to be developed further as an intangible tourist attraction.
