The impact of the Cipularang toll road on the spending patterns of travelers from Jakarta to Bandung
Bandung has long been a tourist destination, especially for Jakarta's people. Since the opening of the Cipularang toll road, officially opened in Augustrn2005, the travel time to Bandung has been reduced by up to 2 hours. Thernpurpose of this thesis is to ascertain if there have been any changes in thernspending patterns of travelers since the opening of the Cipularang toll road.rnUsing qualitative research with the result of the questionnaire as the primaryrndata and supported by a qualitative description, the Author has to gatheredrninformation for this study. With an open ended questionnaire this thesis triesrnto look at the differences in traveler's expenses before and after the openingrnof the Cipularang toll road. As a result of the statistical test, among the sixrncategories of the travelers' expenses three showss a significant change,rnwhich are lodging expenses, transportation expenses, and expenses duringrnthe journey. While the remaining expenses which have not changed arernexpenses for meals, activities, and other expense.
