Designing, prototyping, and controlling the relative sub-structure for irrigation system in circular plantation area
In this thesis project, the relative sub-structure of center pivot irrigation is going to be made. Together with the reference sub-structure, they rotate and do the watering process. However, the one that initiates the speed of the rotation is the reference sub-structure. Therefore, this relative sub-structure has a special feature which is the capability to self align with the movement of the reference sub-structure without disturbing the watering process. This self-aligning process can be done by first sensing the angular position difference, which will be done by a potentiometer. This data is then processed by a controller to generate a signal output to drive the DC motor to move the relative sub-strucutre to eliminate the remailning angular position error.
