Developing a decision support system for Bandung Adventist Hospital

I started this project to ease decision making in the medical service aspect of Bandung Adventist Hospital. This application will provide information about medical service performance and provide some indicators on particular information.rnThe structure of this application is modular which consists of one main module and other modules as features. The decision support system is the main module. I have optimized this application with features such as a complete user authentication system, use of session, and protection against SQL injection.rnI wrote this application in PHP 5.2.6 as the core programming language, HTML 4.01 as the markup language, and CSS to manage the layout and design. I used MySQL 5.0 as the database management system along with PHPMyAdmin 2.11.6 as the user interface to manage my database. I also used some Javascript libraries (Dojo Toolkit and JQuery) for charting, plotting, and as an enhancement for the user interface.rnThe approach I used in this project is heuristic but backed up with enough literature that I was not totally lost in the process. As a result of using this kind approach I spent more months than necessary doing research on data of secondary importance.
