Nowadays people interact not only with other people but also with machine. And since it is common for people to interact with machine, it is possible that one day all machines might interact back to people with a better response, not just by text in the screen but also with sound. In order to get closer to this vision, we need to invent something. One of the tools that are already being invented is Text-to-Speech engine. And we can find many text-to-speech engines today; one of the examples is Indonesian text-to-speech.rnIn order to develop Text-to-Speech technology further, the author conducts this thesis which aim is to design and implement Text-to-Speech engine for Indonesian language based on syllables, where the current Indonesian Text-to-Speech is based on diphone.
