Analysis of the financial currency hedging strategies in managing the transaction exposure and its impact to the profitability of a non-financial firm: study case of PT. Osram Indonesia
The international trade allows goods and services to travel across countries, and so does the currency. One of the international trade participants is PT. Osram Indonesia, which has major business activities internationally and domestically. Therefore, it is an enduring task for the company in dealing with the risk of exchange rate volatility. Along the years, PT. Osram Indonesia is using the natural hedge strategy in handling the transaction exposure. However, since the early stage of the corporate hedging, the financial instruments have proven their validity and efficiency for hedging short-term exposure. Therefore, the research would like to study other financial currency hedging strategies in managing transaction exposure, which are possible to implement at PT. Osram Indonesia and analyze its impact to the profitability.
