This project is expected as the pilot project for the preservation effort of the books and manuscripts at Penyengat Island Province of Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia. The project used chemical materials preservation method. The chemicals used were potassium permanganat as the bleacher" and potassium metabisulfite as the "deacidificator".
