Designing and prototyping a stone grading machine

Sunur, Willy Irianto - Personal Name; Prajogo, Tutuko - Personal Name;

This thesis is intended to build a prototype of stone grading machine with an ability to sort the material especially stones by its dimension and measure the weight of the final object. The grading system can be divided into three sub-systems. The first is the feeding part. The feeding part is designed to distribute the material into the next sub-system. The next sub-system is screening part. The screening part has a function to grade the material based on its dimension. The last sub-system is delivering part. The delivering part has function to deliver the material to the wanted location and measure the weight of the material. From these three sub system, the stone grading machine can be built. The stone grading machine is able to grade the material into 4 different groups of sizes. As the main actuator, the system uses AC motor to vibrate the machine. The weight of the final processed material will be known using strain gage.
