Analysis of ERP implementation on a chemical company in Indonesia: a case study of PT IAG

Nowadays, implementing new technology becomes very important for companies to compete in the dynamic & constantly changing market. New technology will improve the processes into more modern methods in which make the processes go sufficient and smoother. This study focuses on mySAP, an ERP software implemented at the company, PT. IAG. This study aims to know the influence of ERP implementation to the company and employees' performance and identify whether education and working experience have influences to the mySAP implementation. In order to reach the aims of the study, this research uses two methods which are questionnaires and focus group discussion. The results show that the ERP implementation that is, the implementation of mySAP at PT. IAG increases the company's and individual's performance. The evidences are supported by the company financial data from 2004 - 2008. It is also shown that education is not the significant factor in successfully implementing ERP, but working experience at PT. IAG is one of the key contributions in the successful mySAP implementation. By and large, mySAP realization is considered successful as it does indeed improve the company's performance.
