This thesis focuses on the interest about the operational process of the agri business sector in the area of plantation company in challenging the global recession. This study takes PT. X as the sample study to help understand the practical business operation of plantation company in Indonesia. This thesis is designed to analyze the perfomance of the company in challenging the global recession and the strategy and also the operational concept used by the company to improve its perfomance. Through the market analysis, fundamental knowledge about the industry, distribution channel and financial report were collected. That knowledge will be used in answering the research question. Furthermore, it will be helpful to facilitate the thypothesis proving process.rnThis thesis consists of five chapters. It begins with the introduction which gives a brief statement and background of the work of this research study. It outlines the scope of this study, The problem to be researched, the purpose and significance of the study can be found in the first chapter. It also provides a theoritical thinking, besides research question and hypothesis, as a foundation on how the research is conducted.rnThe second chapter provides a theoretical backdrop from which the research is made. It gives a deep knowledge and understanding of the literature to the research problem. The third chapter of this thesis states explicit directions on the type of the study conducted, the data gathering methods and also how the data will be analyzed. The research limitation and scope of the study will be also included in this chapter.rnThe fourth chapter discusses about the result of the research found from the data gathering. It outlines the company information, the operational concept, the partnership distibutor of the company and operational data such as the sales, seed production and MTC production. Those analysis done as a way in gaining better understanding about the fundamental information that must be known before moving into the next steps.
