Application of dynamic systems development method in analyzing student academic management system: a case study at Swiss German University
Industrial and System Engineering is a study focuses on optimization of integrated system of people, material, equipment, information and energy. An industrial engineer design, install and improve this integrated system to achieve its optimum condition. Enterprise Information System (EIS) is one of the most effective and observable equipment that enables the integrated system to achieve the optimum condition. Academic Information System (AIS) is the EIS that is applied in academic institution to manage its educational management system and composed of several systems as Student Academic Management System (SAMS). AIS utilization is important for ease of providing services for student and is required for accreditation purposes. Hence, for a better result of SAMS development in SGU, Dynamic Systems Development Methodology (DSDM) is employed in order to improve a very complex system in a dynamic situation and in a short period of time. As a result, suggestions of business processes improvements are presented.
