Analysing market potential of steel for automobile in Indonesia (a case study in PT. Krakatau Steel)
This thesis will study the market potential of steel for automobile in Krakatau Steel Company. The research process starts with observation and preliminary data gathering on a broader range of the research. On the later phase, problem is identified where we identified the demand of steel domestically is decreasing especially for the automobile sector. Whilst a statistical data from the ASEAN automotive Federation (AAF) and The Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO) will be the indicator for calculating the market potential of steel for automobile. The observations in the steel industry were performed to know better about the steel intensity of automobile thus it can give an answer to the questions. By knowing the steel intensity of each types of automobile we can count the market potential of steel for automobile. As results of the steel intensity we can find out that Krakatau Steel could only supply 5% of Steel for automobile and they can?t compete evenhandedly since their product specification are not compatible for making the automobile body.
