A new reward system as a tool to improve individual and corporate performance, case study PT. Ferrostaal Indonesia
The purpose of this thesis is to study the best appraisal method to measure employee performance in PT. Ferrostaal Indonesia and determine the type of rewards needed to motivate employees that help the company to achieve its goals. The research on this study is classified into qualitative method and done by using explanatory approach, starting from observation and gathering data at PT. Ferrostaal Indonesia. Based on the study, it is concluded that individual appraisal performance has not been fully implemented and the results of it have not been maximized. In addition, extrinsic rewards are chosen as the most preferred type of rewards, such as variable bonus, promotions, and access to seminars and training. Therefore, a new reward system which includes clear identifiable performance measurement is needed and the type of rewards that is most chosen by the employee should be applied. Joining a salary survey can surely help the company to determine the best remuneration package. To ensure the trainings given are in line with the company?s objective, conducting training need analysis is recommended. It is proposed a performance appraisal that uses the combination of Management by Objectives and Forced Distribution methods as a part of a new reward system.
