The study comparison of local indonesian cruciferous vegetables as source of natural anti-cancer and radical scavenger
The aim of this thesis is to study the anticancer activity of local Indonesian cruciferousrnvegetables. Broccoli, mustard greens, and red cabbage are chosen as local Indonesianrncruciferous vegetables. This study also conducts comparison of and relation of the anti-cancer activity and antioxidant activity, as radical scavenger, of those three vegetables. MTT assay method was chosen to examine the anticancer activity while DPPH method was used to examine the antioxidant activity. Based on the result, red cabbage has the highest antioxidant and anti-cancer activity. Its antioxidant activity is 7.1817 ┬▒ 0.1878 g/100 g sample while the anti-cancer activity is 19.05 ┬▒ 1.3435 ppm/100 g sample.rn Keywords: cruciferous vegetables, cytotoxicity, antioxidant
