Constructing a money scanner with improved capability using computer vision technique

Money scanner is basically a machine to identify money bills or bank notes in termsrnof value and validity. In this thesis project, the machine utilizes computer visionrntechnique instead of conventional electrical sensor. The utilization of computer visionrntechniques is in the hope of improving money identification process issued by thernconventional way today. This machine would process the money bill input using arnseries of computer vision techniques. This system is to have a sequence of computerrnvision system in order to identify the money. It starts with face detection and finishesrnwith a combination of edge detection and image template routine. It is concluded thatrnface detection has 100% success rate on the watermark provided that goodrnbacklighting is present. On the other hand, edge detection and image template tries tornexpose the fluorescence threads with 85% success rate.
