Designing and constructing stereo vision based target-tracking for a gun-turret utilizing low performance components
This thesis describes a mechatronics implementation of stereo vision using 2 camerasrnfor gun- turret purposes by utilizing low performance components. The designed gunrnturret was manufactured and fitted with actuators and sensors facilitating thernapplication of digital vision servo control via a designed electronic control unit withrnPC interface. The process to achieve the goal of the project will be divided into 4rnmain processes of the mechanical design, followed by motor selection, then electricalrncircuit design for actuator and motor purposes and finally identification with detectionrnalgorithm for target tracking intention. Hardware, software and mechanicalrndebugging, testing and system integration yield the designed product.
