Manufacturing execution system implementation in PT. United Tractors Pandu Engineering - a case study of functional model definition for manufacturing execution system prototype development in the assembly line of medium vessel section by using dynamic system development method
This thesis project is aimed to generate a Requirement Specification of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) prototype application, which complies with the manufacturing business process of PT. United Tractors Pandu Engineering. This Requirement Specification will include the functional requirements as well as functional models needed for developing the intended MES prototype application. The methodology chosen for this system development project is Dynamic System Development Method (DSDM), due to its suitability for short-time period project that is supported by its iterative and incremental approach characteristic. Foremost, the current manufacturing system and MES core activities will be assessed and analyzed, after that the functional requirements will be identify to be then defined into functional models required for development activities. As a result, there are a total of 8 proposed features that will be incorporated into the MES prototype application. In conclusion, DSDM can be applied effectively to develop an MES prototype application to meet with the business requirements of PT. United Tractors Pandu Engineering.
