Design and implementation of e-ktp mutual authentication and key management program

Darwis, Aravada Kevindra - Personal Name; Lim, Charles - Personal Name;

E-KTP (Indonesian: Kartu Penduduk Elektronik) was introduced by IndonesianrnInterior Ministry to replace the existing identity card. With the contactless smart cardrntechnology, e-KTP obligates every applicant to have their fingerprints scanned,rnverified, and saved in the central storage. Furthermore, the data of the fingerprint willrnbe stored in the e-KTP smart card as well. Since it is a very sensitive data, thus, somernsecurity controls must be implemented. This project developed several programs tornaddress this issue. First, a mutual authentication program for readers/terminals and e-rnKTP smart cards, before transaction begins. The process authenticates both sides andrnproves that they are authorized by employing cryptographic protocols, algorithms, andrnkeys. Furthermore, the project also developed encryption and decryption program tornprotect data during transmission. And last, a key management system prototypernprogram that handles key generation and key distribution for e-KTP cryptographicrnkeys.
