Enterprise resource planning analysis and design of PT. Shei Tai Industrial using Openerp

Most big-sized enterprises have implemented an integrated business processrnmanagement system, so called ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). However, therncost needed is expensive and it causes a barrier for small or medium-sized enterprisesrnto implement the system. As technology development is becoming morernsophisticated, there is a lot of open source software created. One of them is OpenERPrnwhich provides complete solution to manage business processes in medium-sizedrncompanies.rnThe main purpose of this thesis is to prove that OpenERP is suitable for medium-sizedrncompanies in Indonesia based on the scales determined by verifying a case study tornanalyze and implement ERP system in a medium-sized company, PT. Shei TairnIndustrial. This thesis also aims to inspire medium-sized companies to have a betterrnunderstanding how business processes flow through ERP system.rnAccording to the company?s needs, this thesis will focus on material production flowrnprocess. The methodology used to develop the proposed system is V-Model. Thisrnmodel is focused on verification and validation testing through development. As the result, the proposed system is successfully accepted by the company byrnconducting user acceptance test. This proves that OpenERP is suitable for medium-rnsized companies in Indonesia and gives an inspiration for the medium-sizedrncompanies to deeply understand how business processes flow through ERP system.
