An analysis on the effect of afta implementation towards the export of indonesian palm oil
The implementation of AFTA began in 1st January 2003. AFTA was created main forrntrade liberalization by reducing the import tariff between ASEAN countries. Thernelimination of trade barriers creates an opportunity for firms to export its goods orrnservices. Indonesia as a member of AFTA is also the leading producer of oil palmrnplantation with the highest production output throughout the world. With thernimplementation of AFTA, how will it affect the export volume of palm oil and itsrnderivative products (excluding palm kernel oil and coconut oil). The purpose of thisrnresearch is to expose the correlation between AFTA implementation and Indonesianrnpalm oil export. After the research, conclusions and recommendation towardrnIndonesian government, through Ministry of Trade and Indonesian palm oil firms willrnbe given.
