Study of radiological safety on linear accelerator facility at dharmais hospital for cancer
Medical Linear Accelerator device with high photon energy require special handlingrncaused of the scattered radiation resulting by the device have a potential impact onrnradiation safety. Guided on Basic Safety Standards by IAEA, this research has done inrntwo hospitals in order find out the scattered radiation level and its risk to thernenvironment. Using survey meter as the measuring device, the scattered radiation hadrnmeasured in some outside the treatment room. Then the dose limits will be calculatedrnto count the approximately radiation absorbed by the radiation worker per year. At thernend, the result shows that the radiation safety requirement is fulfilled amount ofrnscattered radiation is safe for the radiation worker. However, still need a specialrnattention about the radiation safety to the general public.
