Designing paint filling and mixing machine using computer vision system as color detection device
The presence of filling and mixing machine is normal in the industrial world today. However, filling and mixing machine are separated into two machines. Thus, the main purpose of this thesis is to design and construct those two machines into one machine with one additional system which is color detection system. This machine is basically divided into four subsystems which are filling, mixing, transferring and color detection subsystem. Filling, mixing and transferring subsystem are controlled by PLC and consist of electrical sensor, dc motor and pneumatic cylinder. The main concern in filling system is to control the flow rate which is proven that short actuation time of the pump produces smaller error. On the other hand, mixing system has concern over the clearance between the blade and can hole. Moreover, large diameter rotary table creates considerable inertial force which makes it difficult to control in transferring subsystem. Nonetheless, the color detection subsystem is capable of producing 66.7% successful detection rate.
