Decision support system development based on business intelligence and simulation modeling (case study: PT. Matahari Sakti)
Decision making process in inventory management becomes an important point on this distribution company since their task is to decide when to replenish the inventory, so they could distribute it to the customer. A proper demand forecasting is needed as input to make certain decision in inventory environment. The demand will be seen not only through historical data but also economical view. The demand forecasting will be build through Business Intelligence (using Orange Canvas and IBM SPSS 20) and Simulation (Modeling using Powersim Studio 9). After the forecasted demand successfully simulated, a factory model simulation will be made, and decisions could be taken based on the simulation. The combination from all of them will create a solid decision support system for PT Matahari Sakti.
