Correlation of corporate bond value and yields to profitability for banks listed in Jakarta stock exchange
This study is trying to figure out the relationship between corporate bond values to the profitability of the issuing company. This study focus on the banking industry in Indonesia with seven publicly listed banks that have issued bonds for the last five years since 2007, hence the research is conducted using only secondary data that are available for the public. This thesis conducted its research using SPSS Student Version to analyze the correlation between bond value and bank profitability and Microsoft Excel to calculate the ratios and to process the raw data. The finding of this study can be concluded that there are a very small correlation between bond value and the profitability of the banks. The relationship between the bond value and the profitability is insignificant and thus the profitability of the bank cannot be explained by the bond value they are issuing.
