The Impact of property management system on staff productivity in 5 star hotels in Jakarta case study: power pro solution

Productivity is one of the important factors that can be used to evaluate the economic growth, both at the industry and firm level (Tabatabae, 2000). A high productivity is also important for company profit, and that is why increasing the productivity is vital for any company, including hotels. However, hotels in Indonesia seemed to have low productivity rate. One of many ways to increase the productivity rate is by integrating IT system into their operation. With IT system usage, it is expected that staff production rate will increase. In hotel industries, an IT system called Property Management System (PMS) is widely used. Based on that, this thesis will be focusing on one of the PMS software, called Power Pro Solution. By using a descriptive approach with the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, author then analyzed whether the Power Pro Solution will have any real impact on staff productivity in 5 stars hotels in Jakarta, as well as its' strenghts and weaknesses. From the research conducted, it occurs that regardless of its' strenghts and weaknesses, the Power Pro Solution has a positive effect on the staff productivity.
