Study of radiation protection dosimetry on linear accelerator facility at hospitals in Jakarta using tld
Linear Accelerator device is use for a medical cancer treatment purpose. It can produces scattered radiation, which has the possibility of negative effect of radiation safety. This research has done in order to find out the scattered radiation and its possibility of risk to its surrounding environment. The measuring device using is thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD). The TLD had put in both outside and inside Linear Accelerator treatment room. After that, dose limits will be calculated to find out approximate amount of radiation absorbed of worker per year. The result shows that the amount of scattered radiation and dose limits are below allowed dose limits for radiation worker per year based on Basic Safety Standards by IAEA. It can be say that the Linear Accelerator in both hospitals are safe
