Designing and constructing the gauging subsystem of total length and bottom concavity of vial measurement system
This thesis project has an objective to design and construct a measurement system of total length and bottom concavity of vial which has precision enough to fulfill require tolerance less than 0.06mm from international organization of standardization. The existing measurement system cannot reach the require tolerance, since the uncertain surface of the bucket which is the place for vial. There are two main subsystems developed into this new system, which are the gauging subsystem and the picker subsystem. They are developed to overcome the problem from the existing system. The LVDT sensor is assigned as a sensor, and the human machine interface also installed to this system, so it can be easily accessible. The result of this thesis is that the measurement system can measure the total length and bottom concavity of vial with tolerance precision less than 0.06mm in offline condition. Hence it shows that the gauging subsystem and picker subsystem can work together. There are some recommendations such as adjuster mounting LVDT sensor in gauging subsystem, better mechanical construction, and online testing with the line production.
