Supply chain network modeling and simulation to analyze coal distribution in south kalimantan. Study case: determining coal seaport location in south kalimantan using analytical hierarchy process
The purpose of this thesis is to find the best location possible of coal sea port for distributing coal in South Kalimantan. The problem is to find an opportunity to construct a new port concerning the current situation of coal supply chain in South Kalimantan and to find the best coal sea port location. Methodology used for analyzing the coal supply chain is simulation modeling with ARENA software and methodology used for selecting the best possible location of coal sea port is Analytical Hierarchy Process decision making tools. The result is the used methodologies are very useful to find the best location coal sea port after analyzing the current situation of coal supply chain in South Kalimantan. In conclusion the result of decision making process is Batu Licin as the best location for a new coal sea port in South Kalimantan.
