The impacts of whitening cosmetics advertising in television to women: a case study of Swiss German University student
White is Beautiful' is the general view hold by some of Indonesian women who are subscribed to today's mass media. The usage of media especially advertisement has influence Indonesian women perception of beauty. By Conducting Focus Group Discussion with some of Swiss German University's students, this study aims to find the impact of cosmetic whitening advertisements in television to Indonesian beauty and culture in order to persuade Indonesian women to have a white skin tone. Based on the findings, the message that the whitening advertisements try to deliver is successful towards students. The female students of Swiss German University are influenced by the advertisement of whitening cosmetics in order to have a white skin tone.
