Designing and prototyping an automated rotary drinking-cup sealing station
The purpose of this thesis is designing and constructing an automated rotary drinking-cup sealing station in order to produce a good quality sealed drinking-cup with minimum cost. There are three affecting factor in drinking-cup sealing production system: temperature, time and pressure. A good sealed drinking-cup can be produced using high temperature with a right sealing time and sealing pressure. The problem to be addressed is that higher productivity can be achieved by increasing the temperature and pressure, which means higher cost. Thus, experiment method is used to obtain the appropriate value of those three important factors for sealing system. Temperature is the most influential factor but it deals with power, while sealing time determines the productivity. The result of good parameter achieved is 160┬░C of temperature, five seconds of sealing time and 0.25 bar of sealing pressure.
