The usage of supply chain management activities as competitive advantage towards company performance: case study of PT XYZ
Globalization has made companies to increase its competitive advantage in order to compete in the market and to improve firm performance. One of the ways to increase the competitiveness is by using supply chain management (SCM). The purpose of thisrnstudy is to investigate whether PT XYZ can use SCM practices as competitive advantage to improve organizational performance by distributing questionnaires to the employees as well as by interviewing the operation manager of PT XYZ. This study is supported by literatures and some previous studies with related variables, which are SCM, competitive advantage, and organizational performance. This study implements descriptive and explanatory approach with qualitative (interview) and quantitative (questionnaires) data. The data from questionnaires is processed using SPSS and the relationship between the variables will be analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) tool: AMOS. The result of the research shows that SCM has no direct correlation with PT XYZ?s organizational performance. However, SCM significantly affects the competitive advantage of the company. The competitive advantage also has strong correlation with organizational performance. Hence, it can be concluded that SCM has indirect correlation with organizational performance and PT XYZ can improve its organizational performance using SCM through competitive advantage.
