Modeling, Simulating, and Analyzing an Overhead Crane Using Matlab Simulink and V-Rep Simulator
This thesis works purposes are to develop a mathematical model for overhead crane, to simulate its behaviour, and finally to observe and analyze whether it is able to meet the requirements. the requirements are: transporting a load with minimum sway angle and at the same time the trolley moves at optimum speed; these desired conditions are achieved by adjusting the parameters of the systems such as; velocity, wire rope length, trolley and load mass. Mathematical modeling of the system is run to observe the system response. V-REP simulator is used as a method to crosscheck and to visualize the result of previous mathematical analysis result. the model considers all the important parameters in overhead crane system and its environment to present more realistic response. Practical devices such as a motor, sensors, and any electrical components that are required in overhead crane systems are represented in the simulation software.
