Developing Electrical Energy Monitoring System

Subagio, Rio - Personal Name; Arko - Personal Name;

With the rising cost of electricity and the concern of wasted energy, energy efficiency monitoring and management has become one of the most recent needs in modern life. the primary purpose of this thesis work is to make a basic system for monitoring the energy usage of common electronic appliances that is normally found on our everyday life. It is hoped that another sub system will be built in the future in order to integrate all of this systems into a home monitoring and automation system. For now, the focus of this current system will be a simple electricity monitoring device. It will be built by utilizing the principle of AC power, current sensing, voltage sensing, and also power calculations. Bluetooth interfacing will be used in order to send the power data that is generated by microcontroller trough an Android smartphone. the theories and strategies behind this system, software, and hardware will be discussed in the next few chapters, the resultsare then presented.
