The Impact of Leadership Style on Employee Job Satisfaction: a Case Study of PT. Supreme Energy

Raudhah, Siti - Personal Name; Hidayat, Nila K. - Personal Name;

The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of leadership style on employee job satisfaction in PT. Supreme Energy and analyse the relationship between leadership style and employee job satisfaction. a questionnaire consisted of 39 items based on four-point likert scale (from strongly agree to strongly disagree) was used to measure both leadership style and job satisfaction from employees‚Äö?Ñ?¥ perspectives. Using random sampling, the researcher distributed 100 questionnaires, 70 of which were completed. the obtained data from the questionnaires are investigated through the SPSS statistical packaged software. the empirical results indicated that there is a positive significant relationship between leadership style and employee job satisfaction in PT. Supreme Energy. the findings showed that the current leadership style in PT. Supreme Energy was laissez-faire and employees were dissatisfied with their job. This implies that laissez-faire leadership is considered not suitable for the company. the studys results show that democratic style of leadership has the stronger influence on employee job satisfaction than autocratic and laissez-faire leadership does. as a result, democratic style of leadership is suitable for PT. Supreme Energy, and by adopting the appropriate leadership styles, leaders can affect employee job satisfaction.
