Usage of Low Frequency Sound to Repel Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are a thread for humanity since their tendencies to transmit diseases to humans and mammals. These mosquitoes, which act as a vector, transmit the diseases through biting phenomenon. Numerous studies had been done to repel mosquitoes from biting human, commonly using chemical substance as repellent. the researchs objective was first to implement low frequency sound acting as repellent, before then developed into a mosquito repellent device. a preliminary research was done in order to test the 30 Hz sound, which had worked best to affect mosquito flying behaviour. the sound was applied to interfere the biting phenomenon process, which is flying, approaching, and landing process onto humans hand. an implementation of device development then was conducted. Integration of oscillator, power amplifier and loud speaker were done to maximize the purpose of the device as the mosquito repellent.
